He praised Jay as well as his brother pro wrestler Mark Briscoe, adding that they "dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We'll do whatever we can to support his family."
Journalist for wrestling Dave Meltzer reported that Jay was involved in a fatal auto accident.
"Tony Khan tweeted the death of Jay Briscoe in an auto accident. Two people in car died in an accident at 5:30 p.m. in Laurel, Maryland.
"Correction on the location of the Jay Briscoe accident, it was Laurel, Delaware, not Maryland," Meltzer later claimed.
An officer of public information for the Delaware State Police told PEOPLE that a fatal crash occurred in the vicinity of Laurel on Tuesday
the state police would release the name of those who were involved in the crash early on Wednesday morning.
Jay was a part of the ROH wrestling team in 2002 along with his brother Mark as per USA Today. The two were dubbed The Briscoe Brothers.

ROH Hall of Famer Cary Silkin tweeted a picture of Jay with Jay smiling, and wrote, "I lost one of my children, along with the whole world losing a wonderful person! RIP!"
