Sands The British actor in films like A Room With a View and Arachnophobia has been named the hiking companion that has been missing from the California area of mountains
Sands 65-year-old Sands is missing from the Mount Baldy area since Friday 13 January, as per the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The actor is believed to have been on the well-known Baldy Bowl Trail, which is a 3,900-foot climb over 4.5 miles until the highest peak located in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Search and rescue teams looking for Sands had to suspend their search this weekend due to of the threat of avalanches
an official from the department said to CNN the news channel. Authorities continue to employ drones.

California is being hit by a string of severe winter storms which have brought massive snowfall and flooding over the past couple of weeks.
Sands is a resident of North Hollywood and has been in more than 150 films and TV shows throughout his career.
He most recently was in the horror film The Ghosts of Monday.
