Jerrell Powe, who is 35 was incarcerated on this morning at the Jackson suburb of Ridgeland without bail being set. It's not clear if he's got an attorney to represent his behalf.

Ridgeland The police chief of Ridgeland Brian Myers told WLBT-TV that Powe as well as another person were detained on Thursday in a downtown bank.

Myers stated that the kidnapping started in Laurel which is located about approximately 75 miles  to the southeast of Jackson and concluded after the victim was able to call Ridgeland police.

Powe has been scheduled for her first appearance before an adjudicator on Tuesday.

Powe played as a defensive lineman for Ole Miss from 2008 to the year 2010. He had 7 sacks, 69 tackles as well as an intercept in 37 of the games.

Powe received the honor of Second Team All-Southeastern Conference both in 2009 as well as the 2010 season.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Powe in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL draft.

He appeared in 12 games in three seasons with the Chiefs with seven tackles, and one sack. Powe was a part of 16 games with the Houston Texans in 2014, making 10 tackles

The year 2009 was the time that Powe began to become a permanent player in the Rebels and, as per Tony Pauline of Sports Illustrated the team had NFL Scouts
