Albuquerque police detain Solomon Pena in connection with the shootings at home of elected officials

APD Chief Harold Medina tweeted that the department had arrested Solomon Pena in connection to the recent shootings in homes of elected officials.

Pena was accused of conspiring the payment of four individuals to carry out shootings at the homes of four elected officials.

APD has activated their SWAT unit close to Coal Avenue and Alcalde Place SW on Monday afternoon.

The person who was arrested could have been carrying guns according to APD.

The area was closed for a brief period after the time of 3 p.m. Pena was arrested and is currently in custody.
